It is inspired from one of the iconic works by Gerardo Yepiz “Acamonchi”, who created the character as a means of interacting with his son.
This collaboration between Acamonchi and ART3 had the goal of transmitting the nature and feeling of the original work, a tangible sculpture; which was developed with digital sculpting techniques, 3D printing and next generation materials, as well as classical sculpting techniques.
The idea behind making this character is to break down the taboos of those who believe the intellectual world to be in conflict with urban culture. Who’s to say Cthulhu, being one of the most important mythological figures in literature, could not enjoy a rock concert, or maybe a rap presentation?
Cthulhu seeks to catch the attention of those who recognize its history in H.P. Lovecraft’s books, and all of these who have an interest in urban culture. This because, in the end, art, in its different expressions, is for everyone, and there is always a point where all preconceptions vanish and people can share moments without such baggage.
